Products are designed and made by Jan Mundy, who began her canvas career apprenticing as a sailmaker in the '70s then managed Harbour Canvas Works, a canvas shop located on the Toronto, Ontario, waterfront, which specialized in custom covers, awnings and accessories for boats and homes. Now 30-plus years later after a successful career in marine journalism she has returned to her roots. With Salty Dog Canvas she combines her love of dogs and dog sports. Many summer weekends you'll find Jan and her All-Canadian dog Tess competing at an AAC agility trial. She is now training Strider, a three-year-old border collie she and husband Steve Kalman adopted from Border Collie Rescue Ontario and her puppy Kirra, a German Coolie from Canadian Cobar Coolies. Until Kirra, all their dogs were rescues and Strider is their seventh rescued dog in 30 years.
